Ukraine to produce Tamiflu analogue

Ukraine will start producing a Tamiflu analogue in the Kharkiv region using raw materials from India, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said during a meeting today with regional governors about the flu epidemic.
"I have personally held talks on all levels to allow India to cooperate with Ukraine on two directions: supplying the substance to the Kharkiv oblast so that they can produce large volumes of Tamiflu for the entire country, and India also plans to supply Tamiflu and antibiotic at rather low prices," the head of government emphasized.
Earlier, Yulia Tymoshenko reported that the Cabinet of Ministers is holding talks with Indian pharmaceutical companies on supplying Ukraine with a full spectrum of antibiotics necessary in the second stage of treatment of viral infections.
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Petro Poroshenko had earlier stated that Indian pharmaceutical companies are ready to provide Ukraine with flu prevention medicine free of charge
